Two prisoners effected their escape from Maitland gaol on the morning of 7th August 1851 - Patrick Macnamara and Patrick Walsh. Patrick Walsh was described as age 34, 5ft 3inches, sallow complexion, brown hair with hazel eyes. A native of Kilkenny Ireland. Scar on right cheek; strong with broad shoulders. Dress - dark English tweed trowsers and blue woollen shirt
